We had heard a lot of thing from La Virgen Del Chorrito located in Hidalgo, Tamaulipas. It is said that
the this Virgen came out of the hill itself. It is located within the hill and when people found it they build a church
where people could go see it. Part of the hill is inside the church which means as you are entering the church instead of
seeing a wall you are able to see the hill.
The Virgin has been known for granting miracles for those who go and see her. Since things were kind
of tough for Sergio and I, we decided to go see the miraculous virgin. On a sunday we decided to take our trip to Hidalgo,
Tamaulipas.
We departure from Monterrey at around 1:00pm. and headed over to see La Virgen Del Chorrito. During
the way we listened and sanged a lot of songs. The funniest part of our trip was that on our way the state trooper (federal
de caminos) turned on his light because we were speeding but he didn't stop us since there were a lot of cars coming and he
couldn't make a turn. We were in the highway for about 3 1/2 hours.
When we got there the first thing we did was go see La Virgen Del Chorrito and prayed for a while inside
the church. Then we went to go see the water that falls from the hills of whom they say is holly water. We also had the opportunity
to buy gift for our family and for ourselves. We ate there "gorditas" which were made when we ordered so they tasted so delicious.
Then we went to go see the "chorito". The water was super super cold. It is was so amazing that the water that came from the
hills was from the cloud. It looked like a waterfall.
It was around 5:30pm. when we decided that it was time for us to take the highway again because it was going
to be a long way. In our way back home, we noticed that we didn't have that much of gas but we forgot where we could find
a gasoline station, but we were so lucky that after all we did find one because it was rare that we saw on. We arrived to
Monterrey at about 8:30pm. We were very tired of the highway.
Going to Hidalgo, Tamaulipas to go see La Virgen Del Chorrito will be one of the trip that I will
never forget because it was a wonderful experience.
